For want of a better name an open area beyond the Treasury is given the name of The Street of Facades.
Here are a large number of simpler tomb facades.
It is also an area for refreshments - well sited.
Behind all the tomb facades is a large chamber in which are the burial niches.
This photo clearly shows how the facades were carved from the rock faces and are often quite shallow.
The Romans extended the original Nabatean amphitheatre and in so doing revealed the inner chambers of adjoining tombs.
